I have over 30 years of experience in building design and construction, land use and development, and employment relations.

Scott Thomas is an attorney practicing law in Mount Vernon, Washington.  His practice focuses on labor and employment, design and construction, land use, and privacy issues in state and federal court.  Scott has litigated a variety of cases, including contract disputes, discrimination and wrongful termination claims, defective design and construction matters, negligence actions and business torts.

Scott was born in Omaha, Nebraska, and received his undergraduate degree in architecture from the University of Nebraska - Lincoln.  Upon graduation, Scott worked as a design professional for two architect/engineering firms in Omaha.  His design projects encompassed projects both big and small, from single family residences to medical and industrial facilities.  He served as the project architect for the United States Postal Service South Omaha Facility project, and served on the Clarkson Hospital, Jbarri Hospital, and Federal Aviation Administration Regional Air Traffic Control Facilities projects.  Upon relocating with his family to Washington state, Scott continued to practice architecture and worked primarily on multi-family projects throughout the Puget Sound regions for a variety of clients.  In 1985, Scott was appointed Building Official for the City of Issaquah.

Scott received his juris doctorate, cum laude, from the University of Puget Sound School of Law.  Upon graduation, Scott served as an assistant city attorney for the City of Tacoma; as the city attorney for the City of Mount Vernon, and as the city attorney for the City of Burlington.
